As in many other professional activities, the term “interpreter” is a generic one: each interpreter is therefore classified by us according to multiple parameters, which include not only the language combinations in which they work (evaluated according to precise ISO standards), but also the modes of interpreting (simultaneous, consecutive, chuchotage), their subject specializations (medical, legal, by industry, etc.), their training, geographical location and more.
The interpreters assigned to a service are all professionals with A or B certification (ISO standard) in their language combinations and are properly selected based on the requirements of each individual assignment. They apply the code of conduct, confidentiality and privacy obligations established by the standards of our profession.

How to request simultaneous interpreting services
A simultaneous interpreting service is usually requested during conventions, conferences and seminars and includes the provision of interpreters and tools for listening to the translation for the participants, coordinated and managed by technical operators. These tools can be based on hardware systems or software applications.
Hardware-based solutions rely upon specialized equipment, including radio or infrared receivers with headphones for listening to the translation and the system for distributing and managing the signal between speakers, interpreters and listeners. Interpreters must also work in soundproof booths.
Instead, using a software solution, all service processes are carried out via applications managed by an IT platform. Event participants listen to the translations via their smartphones, interpreters operate via their computers , and the translations are distributed via the Internet.
The software solution is clearly the most practical and efficient, as it does not require the rental, installation and management of dedicated equipment, there are no receivers for participants to distribute and collect, and the interpreters can be connected remotely rather than necessarily having to be present in the venue.

Interpreting with AI
We provide AI-enabled simultaneous interpreting services, where the task is performed by computers using artificial intelligence software applications.
Although the prices of this service are more affordable, it is important to point out that the quality of AI interpreting is still far from that performed by human interpreters and its use must therefore be carefully evaluated.
The progress made by AI applications in the linguistic field is enormous and surprising. With the evolution and training of systems through the use of LLM (Large Language Models), the application of generative AI and increasingly powerful and sophisticated technologies, we are able to obtain translations of texts and documents with a considerable degree of accuracy, however, an AI translation always needs to be reviewed and corrected by an expert human translator.
In the case of interpreting, where the execution must take place in real time, it is not possible to include an interpreter/reviser into the process, so the quality of the service depends exclusively on the product generated by the AI, with its current limitations.

Simultaneous interpreting
The interpreter translates in real time while the speaker speaks, usually using headphones and microphones. It is the most common form in conferences, conventions and congresses.

consecutive interpretation
The interpreter listens to the speech, takes notes, and then, at intervals, translates segments of the speech.

Telephone or VRI – Video Remote Interpreting

Some further considerations to keep in mind when organizing meetings and conferences where interpretation services are required.
Two interpreters are required when the event includes continuous interpreting sessions lasting more than an hour. The interpreter’s work requires a particular cognitive effort that cannot be sustained for a long time. In long sessions, the interpreters will therefore alternate in the performance of the service.
Interpreting services have different rates, depending on the requirements, which are usually calculated per minute for remote or telephone interpreting, per hour, half day or full day for all other services. For simultaneous services through Ablioconference the minimum rate is two hours, for all other services the minimum rate is half day. The half-day rate includes 4 hours of interpreting, while the full-day rate includes 7 hours.
We recommend that you plan your requests in advance, especially for in-person assignments, in order to guarantee that the service will be performed with the most appropriate interpreters and at the most convenient prices. In any case, we always do our best to satisfy every service request, even if received with very short notice.
